December 18, 1999 - Saturday
Today was one of those days that you almost wish you could have a do-over. Teaching
was fine, but I got a bit snappy with my co-worker and I wish I didn't. We are all
under a lot of pressure right now and I didn't help any. Our Christmas party is
tomorrow. I'm dreading it as usual. I always feel sad after parties because they are never
up to my expectations. My friend Taeko isn't coming, and she had said she would
so I'm a bit upset.
One good thing about being in Japan though is not having to worry about which friend
or family member is going to take pity
on moi
this year and invite me for Christmas. Of course, the opposite is true now, I'm
trying to find someone to spend New Years with. I've had an offer or two, but I'm
trying to make up my mind about them.
Anyway, I'll try and let you all know how the party went tomorrow night. I hope it's
fun!
