November 12, 1999 - Friday
I had a pretty good day today. Work was fine. Then after work I had an interview
with an old student of mine who is coming back. It was cool to see him again.
I went out with the manager tonight for ramen. That was kind of nice. Then I offered
to mail something for her, but it needed extra stamps. I went to the machine at
the post office, put in the money, pressed the buttons and waited. No stamps came
out. I pressed the buttons again. No stamps. Then I hit the reject button, but no money
came out. Sigh. So I trundled off to the main post office to use that machine.
Luckily, it worked, so I could go home.
There was a lot of lightning and just after I went to the convenience store it started
to rain. I put on my raincoat , but got pretty wet anyway. Is that what they mean
by"No good deed goes unpunished"?
And then, I turned on theTV and discovered that Red Dwarf had been replaced by Dharma
and Greg. That was a nice surprise. I love Red Dwarf, but I also enjoy Dharma and
Greg.
So, not a bad day at all. I was busy, but then, when aren't I?
