February 4, 2000 - Friday
The weather was okay today. I rode my bike again, with no mishaps. Yay.
I was quite surprised because classes went well and one of my students that almost
never comes showed up. I got a card from one student and a present from one of Hitomi's
students (She'll be my student soon). That was a nice surprise. And, a birthday
card arrived today from my friend Donna. It was cool. She sent lots of pictures of
her family. It made me a bit homesick.
I haven't totally decided what to do tomorrow. I might hop on a train and go somewhere
and stay, I just don't know yet. A lot depends on the weather tomorrow. There has
been a forecast of snow....yuck. I don't really care about going, it's coming back
that I worry about.
Yesterday I forgot to tell you about something that happened before my last class.
I was working on my teaching notes when the piped music system started to play Leo
Sayer's "More Than I Can Say". It's been years since I heard it. I'm afraid that
I started to sing-a-long and then the tears started to fall a bit. That was one of the
few rock or pop songs that my Dad ever liked, and I just missed him at that moment.
It was sort of weird, a student of mine was in the lobby, my co-workers were wandering
around, and I was missing my Dad.
The bruise on my lower leg is coming along nicely! Unfortunately tonight when I got
up I accidentally put some weight on my bruise and I nearly died from pain. I couldn't
believe it. It was awful. I won't do that again quickly, I can tell you!
Anyway, don't wait up for my next entry. It will probably be late.
Bye!
