February 8, 2000 - Tuesday
Today was okay. The weather in the morning was fine, although when I came home tonight
it was a mixture of snow and rain. Foolishly I didn't take my rain cape or an umbrella
to work so I got a bit wet on the ride home.
Work was okay. I had only a few classes. I class in particular went really well.
We were talking about how colour relates to personality. It was just fun for a
change. In E class one of my students was half asleep! His class time was changed
recently and he took a nap before class. I've done that before, (Not at work of course!)
and then when I get up I'm still sleepy. Usually in me it is combined with a case
of the shakes, but he didn't seem to have that.
My private student finally came today. We've cancelled a lot of classes this year
between us. Her daughter was ill with the chicken pox, so she couldn't come for
2 weeks and I went on holiday, so our schedules didn't mesh well. And next week
I'm off to Sapporo so I can't teach her then either!
Tonight when I was writing e-mail I got a phone call from one of my students. It
was really nice to talk to him. I know that it's difficult to speak another language
on the phone, I rarely even try speaking in Japanese, because it's sooo hard!
And that's about it. I hope the snow doesn't stay, I don't want to walk to work tomorrow,
but if I have to I will. Sigh
