January 24, 2000 - Monday
It was a snowy day today, but I did a lot of the things that I needed to do. I got
up and did my laundry earlier today. While I did that I read an Elizabeth Peters
novel and tried to plan my day. The weather wasn't helping my decision. I really
wanted to go out, but it was a combination of snow and rain that made it unappealing to go
out. But, after realizing that if I didn't go out soon, I never would, I left.
I was trying to find a shortcut, or at least a way to the mall without going on the
main roads, but I couldn't. Sigh. The mall was fine. I got the things I needed,
I got my film developed, and I went to McDonalds. I was having a craving for French
Fries.
After a bit, I went home to get ready for the goodbye supper that we were going to
have, but the guest of honour had a cold, so she cancelled it. I was sad about it
as I'd been looking forward to going out all weekend, but I do know that it isn't
much fun to fly with a cold.
I ended up staying home in front of the TV watching first Covergirl with Gene Kelly
and Rita Hayworth and then ER. Just after midnight I got a call from a student and
we chatted for a while.
Now I'm watching the Glastonbury 99 concert. I was channel-surfing and I saw/heard
The Barenaked Ladies so of course I had to stop and watch. It isn't often that I
get to see Canadian bands on TV, and even less often to see them live.
That's my day. Not too exciting, but it was quite nice. I'm happy actually.
