May 29, 2000 - Monday
Today was a much different day from yesterday. It was much quieter for one thing!
I didn't set my alarm or anything, but I woke up around 11. I got up and watched
the news, wrote yesterday's entry for my home page and then, I'm a little embarrassed
to say this, but I went back to bed! I was awakened a few minutes later by the Gas
Lady, so I paid her (after hurriedly throwing on some clothes so I wouldn't get arrested).
I decided to stay up after that.
I showered and then headed off to the new 100 ¥ shop. It was a beautiful day so I
actually wore sunscreen today. I didn't find a lot to buy at the shop, so I left
and then hit the drug store. I only bought shampoo, then I headed back home. At
home I dumped the stuff I bought and headed for Mosburgers. I just had the urge to have a
decent hamburger. I got there after a long bike ride. I noticed part of the way
there that my right thumb had gone numb. I wonder if it's a sign that I'm allergic
to latex (bike handles) or that I was gripping the handle too tightly...stress related due
to fear of Japanese drivers? I dunno...but please give me your best guess.
The burger and fries were great then I went to Book Bahn. It was funny, but I saw
two of my students there. I couldn't however find any cds that I wanted to buy and
it looked like my student that works there wasn't there today.
I headed back home. On the way I rented a video, The Thomas Crown Affair. This was
the recent remake, not the original which I had watched a few months ago. I liked
the remake better actually, but I still didn't like it that much. One sign for me
of how good a movie is is can I take my eyes off the movie or do I have to stayed glued
to the screen. Obviously I have to really enjoy a movie to be glued to the screen.
I played a lot of computer games so I guess I wasn't that enthralled. I guess I
just don't have a lot of patience with movies that tell stories about bored rich people who
turn to crime to excite themselves. Get a life already!
I returned the video tonight after I watched it and then I bought a few groceries,
came home, watched ER and wrote a few cards. Then I turned on my computer again
and well, this is the result of that.
It was a quiet day, but very nice. I have something/someone on my mind and I'm trying
to decide what to do. If I should do something or not. I'm leaning towards the
should plan....If anything happens, I'll keep you posted.
