August 12, 2001 - Sunday
A great day today. I woke up to the sweet strains of Burton Cummings. Then I got
up and I did laundry, just a couple of loads. I went off then and caught a train
to Sapporo.
In Sapporo I met up with Susan and Steve and we went to their hotel to check in first.
Then we went to The Taj Mahal and had great Indian Food.
After that we did a bit of shopping and walking around. After Maruzen Bookstore,
we went to Starbucks for coffee. Then we decided to go to karaoke, and ended up
walking in Susukino. We found a karaoke box and went in. We made a real hash of
asking for a box, but got one anyway.
We sang a lot of songs, and it was really fun. Both Susan and Steve sang a lot of
songs, so I did too. Most of mine were really old, but I enjoyed them anyway.
After a couple of hours we left and made the long walk back to the station. At the
station we said our goodbyes and I caught a train back to Otaru. The train was crowded
but I managed to get a seat.
I got home and watched some TV. I watched the World Championships from Edmonton and
for a change they showed part of the city that wasn't just the stadium. The ladies
ended up running through the part of the city that I used to live in. In fact, I
saw the drugstore that was across the street from the bank I used to work in. I even saw
the Alberta Legislature Building. Cool huh!
And that's about it. I have to go to bed really soon as it is terribly late. I'm
not sure what I'll be doing tomorrow. Tune in and find out! Night.
