The city that I call home, Washington DC, was targeted for attack by cowardly terrorists on September 11th.
Less than two weeks after that day of destruction, I had a chance to view first hand the devastation left by the terrorist attack on the Pentagon. All around the area surrounding the great structure, makeshift memorials were erected to honor the sacrifice and bravery of the men and women who perished at the Pentagon.
This is America at it's best. Ordinary Americans, from all walks of life, strangers, banding together in a display of patriotism, solidarity, and open defiance at the terrorists who dare try to attack freedom.
