Top Dogg

Hailed by some as the Savior for Death Row, Derek Wade has certainly made his presence felt in the short time he has been with the label. Signed right before snoop left deathrow "like the bitch he is", Top Dogg emerged on the Re-release of the Gang Related soundtrack with a song called "Going Back To Cali". Known at that time as YGD Tha Top Dogg, he made some noise up in New York seeing how the song was a direct diss to not only puff daddy and biggie, but the whole bad boy record label. This was the first real signs that deathrow was still around and had new talent on the rise. After that exciting debut, he then followed with another "leaked out" hit which was called "Me and my Boyz". Worked on 3 songs for The Chronic 2000 and 2 of them were pretty good. Top Dogg is from Compton California and is rumored to be of ken with Dj Quik although that has yet to be seen. Some say he is a snoop biter, and others say he's not. His flow may be similar to Calvin Broadus but if you listen to "No Limit Top Dogg" then listen to "going back to cali" or even Cindafella on the Chronic 2000 you will notice a difference in the two. One thing is for sure though, Death Row will be banking on this artist for a long time, he has the talent to be a multi platinum artist and deathrow will milk him for everything that he is worth.
