Mountain Ranch
Eldorado
The population is a bit deceiving because everyone who receives mail at the post office is counted.
This is the closest town to me.
Mountain Ranch was located out Whiskey Slide Rd a few miles.
The post office was moved to El Dorado in 1868 changing it's name to Mountain Ranch.
The picture on the left was taken form the east end of town looking west.
The picture on the right was taken from the west end of town looking east.
The road in the left picture vanishes where the Blunder Inn is located.
The picture on the right you can see a building that looks like it's in the road.
That building is the Blunder Inn (our local tavern).
Now you have seen the north side of our fair city.
This picture is on the east end of town.
It runs in front of the Grocery,Hardware,Feed Store and Lumberyard combination (Senders).
As you can see from all the cars it was a very busy day in town.
The large tree on the right is in front of the Sheriff Sub Station.
Actually it's not a sub station but a place where the Deputy's write their reports when they are in the area.
Now you have seen the east end of town.
There is no west end as the town is a triangle.
This picture is of the street that runs on the south side of town.
On the left you can see the Church and Old Hotel.
On the right is the New Post Office.
This picture was taken from in front of the Community Center.

Old Post Office & New Post Office
The main business in town is Senders.
There is always free hot coffee for the customers.
Senders & Shops Building
There are not many shops in the shops building but at the far end is a cafe.
The cafe is open for breakfast and lunch.
Every town needs a gas staton.
Gas Station
This is the no brand gas station.
As you can see the price of gasoline is finally down below $2.00 per gal.
Oh yes the old watering hole.
Blunder Inn
This is our local saloon.
Live music is played here on most holidays and for most events.
They also serve food.
And what kind of old town would this be without an old barn?
Old Barn
The gold nugget below is on display at Kautz Ironstone Vineyards, Murphys, California.
It weighs 44 pounds and is the rarest form of gold, Crystaline.
