"Not without my horse" is the way Marie lives most of her life. Marie's buckskin Quarter Horse "Duffy" participates with her in team penning, trail trials, gymkanas, competitive trail ride, and drill team.  Before Marie's first 10K run, she mentioned her nervousness at never before competing at anything without her horse.  To support her horse habit,  Marie is a Chemical Analyst for a world-wide geothermal power company.
