Magazine Picture Flower Pot
Have children cut out flower pictures from gardening magazines.Glue each flower cut-out to the top of tongue depressor.Let children choose several different types of flowers.Then glue the tongue depressors between two cut outs of a flower pot.Very cute Mothers Day gift.
Tissue Paper Sunflower
Cut out sunflower shapes from yellow construction paper,include petals and "circle" center.Have the children glue scrunched up yellow tissue squares onto the petals.Glue sunflower seeds into the middle circle.Add green paper stem and leaves.
Handprint Flowers
Glue a colored circle in the middle of the page,then place handprints around it as the petals.
Egg Carton Tulips
Have children paint individual egg cups from a cardboard egg carton.Be sure they paint the whole cup-inside and out.Then have them paint a tongue depressor green and stick through the bottom of the painted egg cup.Looks like a pretty tulip!
Worms in the Dirt
Cut out 18x6 strips of tan colored construction paper and have the children glue potting soil onto the paper. Then have them glue on a small lengths (6 inches) of brown or tan colored yarn. The yarn represents the "worms". If you have access to a laminator, these look really cute laminated.
