I'm doing these in skate order:

Shiina - woare a black dress, sparkly around the neck. She two footed her triple lutz, overrotated her triple sal, the triple flip/double toe was good, fell on three triples, doubled a lutz, two double axels were okay. She has a pretty layback spin.

Nikodinov - skated to romantic classical music, possibly from "Sleeping Beauty?" She wore a beautiful white dress dress. Singled her opening axel, triple lutz and triple flip were good, doubled her loop, doubled a sal, lutz, and toe loop. Gorgeous laybacks, as usual. She seems in worse shape than last year in terms of her jumps.

Yamasaki - wore a costume with a pale green bodice and tan skirt and skated to sad violin music. She popped her lutz, two footed her flip, three sal/double toe was okay. She fell on her triple loop, singled her axel, fell on triple sal, doubled her flip and had a wonky landing.

Wojtala - wore a very pretty black velvet dress with a horizontal sparkly pattern on the top. Skated to classical piano music. She was also involved in an earlier collision, but seemed to be okay. Her triple lutz/double toe was good, doubled her flip, did a triple/double combo I missed but it was okay, double axel was good, doubled her loop and sal, triple sal was good. She also performed a Biellmann spin and had a nice fast combo spin at the end.

Gulke - wore a black dress with a white and black design on the top. She had a tear on the part of the costume hidden by the skirt which only showed up when she jumped. She skated to techno music of some sort. Didn't catch her opening triple, and she fell on the triple loop. She had a hand down on her double axel, and she fell on her triple loop and two other triples after that. Nice layback and showed a lot of speed on her spiral sequences.

During the second group warm up, there were several near collisions.

Hughes - skated to "Don Quixote" in a red dress with black trim and wore a red flower in her hair. Nice double axel, triple loop/triple loop, nice triple flutz, triple toe, double axel, and triple flip. Nice combo spin at the end. She got a standing ovation.

Sun - wore a light pink to dark pink on the bottom dress and skated to dramatic music which changed to slow sad violin music. She fell on her opening triple, managed a triple toe/double toe, fell on double axel, three sal was two footed, stepped out on triple toe.

Sokolova - Her practices had been awesome, and she had been doing some interesting triple combination jumps (must be that Plushenko influence) She stuck to the more conventional ladies' jumps in her performances. Elena wore a black sheer dress with white trim. She skated to dramatic classical music. Her triple lutz/double toe was good, popped her lutz, popped her loop, then did a triple loop right after it, triple lutz, triple flip were good, doubled her sal, nice double axel. Camel spins were nice.

Kwan - wore a simple black dress with a ruffle in the back and gold trim around the neck line. She stepped out of her opening triple loop, her triple lutz/double toe was nice and she followed that with a triple flip/double toe. She then doubled something I didn't catch, nice double axel, triple sal, triple toe, triple lutz. Not Michelle's best, but I thought it was good enough to win.

Michelle in the short program

Volchkova - wore a very beautiful white dress, tattered look skirt with a sparkly top and skated to classical piano music. Double axel, triple lutz, triple flip, triple loop, popped lutz, triple sal and triple toe slightly wonky on the landings.

Currie - wore a pretty off shoulder orange dress and skated to Spanish guitar music which changed to something with a very strong drum beat. She popped her lutz but managed to tag on a double toe. Okay double axel, slipped on a double toe which was supposed to be part of a 2A/2T combo. Doubled her sal, fell on triple lutz, double axel slightly wonky. Nice layback, nice final spin combo.

A little bit of a splat fest for the ladies. Sarah had the most inspired program of the night, but she still doesn't have the presentation skills to beat Michelle, in my opinion.
