Reports! |
Ahhh...it all comes down to this at the end of a long season...the World Championships! This year, the people of Canada (who are huge fans of skating, needless to say) have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to attend the World Championships in their very own city of Vancouver! All of the world's elite skaters will have trained for this very moment, to win the coveted World crown, and have qualified to skate at Worlds by their country's federation by proving themselves in various competitions throughout the year. This competition will also secure the number of spots a country will receive for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games, not to mention determine who will be the inevitable favorites for Olympic Gold. (Not that it matters much...the ice is still slippery..) What's even better, Laurie, Anna, and Julie of the Alexei Yagudin Discussion Group will be there to witness the competition live! (And to cheer on a particular skater...Gee, I wonder who that could be? LOL!) Laurie will be calling in from the venue to give us live reports on the board! Plus iskater.com is going to have live coverage of this event, thanks to Paul Martini and crew! Thanks guys! You know we love you! (Hey, football is live, baseball is live, basketball is live, golf is live for gosh sakes! We figure skating fans gotta get our sport live somehow, LOL...) Check out the official page for the entire roster (there are a lot of people, and I really don't want to list them all, LOL...) |
