Two people received minor injuries Wednesday when their vehicle went off eastbound Highway 49/20 near the Idaho Maryland offramp and hit a road sign.
Robert West, 78, and Joan Agar, 84, were treated at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital and released, said Catherine Russell, a nursing supervisor.
The Honda Accord Agar was driving somehow went off the road and hit a sign and some bushes, said engineer Randall Gross of the Nevada County Consolidated Fire Protection District, Station 91.
Gross said he didn't know why Agar's car went off the highway.
Sierra Nevada Ambulance transported both West and Agar to the hospital.
