This letter is to let you know how much we appreciate Fire Chief Tim Fike and to acknowledge everything he has accomplished for us and the fire district. In the time he has been our chief, Nevada County Consolidated Fire District has progressed beyond our expectations and become a leader in Nevada County and a model for others. As a direct result of Chief Fike's leadership, our district is thriving.
We have state-of-the-art equipment such as the newest CAFS engines, the newest technology defibrillators, the latest in computer software and thermal imaging cameras. There is a mobile district mechanic to properly maintain the equipment we use. The stations have new furniture for our comfort and health equipment for our physical fitness. We operate safely and have the best in safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
We are proud to serve our community with response plans that cross boundaries that are not political but simply send the closest available resource when help is needed. We have increased staffing at stations, joint staffing with another department and a successful resident program to augment staffing and provide additional response to incidents. We work and train as a team with many other agencies.
Our training programs are top-notch. There are growth opportunities available for all our district personnel, and this is actually proven each time a Consolidated firefighter is hired by other fire departments. Our chief supports us in our training and encourages our captains, engineers and firefighters to become the best they can be.
As a direct result of Chief Fike's influence, the morale of the officers, career firefighters and paid call firefighters is the highest it has ever been. Chief Fike has an innate ability to inspire people to excel in everything they try. Out of respect, personnel just want to perform well for the chief. The very thought of falling short or slipping up carries the dread of "what the chief might think."
We are honored to follow the leadership of a chief we truly respect and trust. Please join us in expressing our thanks for great chief doing a great job!
