Dog Bar Rollover Injures 3
By Pete Skiba
Three people were injured, including two children, when a Suzuki Samurai rolled and ended up in the middle of Dog Bar Road near Alta Sierra Drive Sunday morning.
One of the children was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle during the 10:30 a.m. accident, said Officer Dave Qualls of the California Highway Patrol.
Both children were riding in the Suzuki's back seat and the injured adult was a passenger in the front seat, according to reports. None of the victims was identified nor was the extent of their injuries available Sunday night.
The three victims were taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital by ambulance, said Dean Weathers, a Nevada County Consolidated Fire District firefighter. The Suzuki's driver had minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital, he said.
A Ford Aerostar van was involved in the accident, but the number of people in the van and the extent of injuries was unknown, Weathers said.
It was unclear how the accident occurred, he said.
Officials closed one lane of traffic on Dog Bar Road for about an hour after the wreck, Weathers said.
"We had traffic directed around and there was no delay," he said.
