A Toyota Corolla went out of control and flipped on Gracie Road near Banner Mountain Trail Saturday, leaving two of four occupants in the car injured, authorities said.
One person sustained head injuries and was taken by helicopter to Sutter Roseville Medical Center by Calstar, said Spencer Garrett, a Nevada County Consolidated engineer. Another person went by ambulance to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, he said.
The names and ages of the people involved in the crash, all male, were unavailable Sunday. The two other people in the car refused medical aid, Garrett said.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
The victim flown to Sutter Roseville with head injuries was described as combative on a dispatch log.
More often than not, people with head injuries become combative, Garrett said.
"Combativeness and confusion are warning signs of concussions," Garrett said.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the 2 p.m. accident but could not be reached for comment on Sunday night.
The Nevada City Fire Department and the Nevada County Sheriff's Office also responded to the crash.
