A Grass Valley woman hospitalized for facial injuries after sliding off the hood of a moving car was in fair condition Monday, a Sutter Roseville Medical Center spokeswoman said.
Sandra Meadows, 26, went there by helicopter after the 6:25 p.m. Sunday accident on Dolores Drive, east of Alta Street, in Grass Valley.
She was on the hood of her friend Maria Lavezzo's 1986 Oldsmobile, which was moving at 25 mph when Lavezzo abruptly braked, causing Meadows to hit the street with her face, California Highway Patrol spokesman Troy Marks said.
Lavezzo and Meadows were simply playing around, and there was no malicious intent, he said.
