Author's Note: This is the beginning of my new series, The Others. The timeframe is after PRLG. Email me about what you think about this. This time you can actually flame me instead of my muses, since this idea just hit my head last night.
Tommy Oliver has a lot of things on his mind lately. That has always happened. But lately, the things just come back to his mind every now and then. It's almost like recurring dreams, but he has them during the day as well as night. They are almost like visions. These 'visions' are like nightmares, none of them is good.
Now he found himself walking down the street of Angel Grove. His visions are coming back to him as he bumped into an old African-American man.
"Oh I am so sorry sir," Tommy apologized sincerely.
"That's okay Tommy," the man replied.
"How did you... how did you know my name?" Tommy whispered, surprised.
"My name is Elmer Greentree. You have been experiencing visions, am I correct?" he told Tommy.
"Yeah.... I guess you can say that. How'd you know?" he asked again.
"I want you to join us," Elmer requested.
"Us? What do you mean by 'us'?" Tommy questioned curiously.
"The Others. I want you to join The Others," the old man responded.
Tommy considered that for a while. "Ok, I will join you," he finally answered. With that, Tommy followed the stranger to a house a few blocks away.
They arrived at a Victorian-styled house, which belonged to Elmer. On their way to his house, they got to know each other better. Tommy found out that Elmer had his first visions when he was a child, about 10 years old. They talked about Tommy's visions, which were about all sorts of things.
They entered the house and headed toward the library, where they found the other members. Tommy was a little nervous, since he didn't know anyone.
"Relax Tommy," Elmer instructed as if he read Tommy's mind. "Have a seat."
"So is this guy the new addition?" a blonde guy asked. Elmer nodded.
"This is Tommy Oliver," he said, motioning to Tommy. "Tommy, this is Mark Gabriel, Marian Kitt, Warren Day, Satori, and Miles Ballard," Elmer continued as he introduced them to each other.
"Nice to meet you," Tommy said politely.
"Nice to meet you to," the others chorused.
You were a ranger before?" Mark asked.
How did they know?! Tommy thought. "Yes, I was. But not anymore," he answered. They nodded knowingly.
"Ok, now here's a good sign," Warren commented. He was always into signs. The rest of the group smiled at that comment.
"Well, what do you guys want from me?" Tommy asked, trying not to sound rude.
"Well, we are here because we each has the gift of seeing in the other side of the world and can sense energy. Also, Mark is empathic and some of us have telekinesis powers," Elmer explained.
"And according to you records, you may be a telepath as well," Satori broke in.
"Records?" Tommy queried.
"Yes. We have a copy of all your records when we found out you received visions. That is also how we know you were a ranger," she explained.
"I see," Tommy replied.
"It would be very useful if you really are a telepath," Miles commented. Elmer nodded in agreement.
"But now we have to learn more about Unnamed," Marian reminded them.
"Unnamed?" Tommy asked.
"Yes. Unnamed is a certain source of great and dangerous energy. Nobody can explain what it is. It has invaded us, somehow. We are trying to find out exactly what it is," Elmer told him.
"So we have to search for answers to a mystery that no one could solve?" Tommy summarized.
"Simply put it, yes," Satori confirmed.
"But we have to gather more vision receivers in order to accomplish that goal," Miles informed.
"Yes. I feel that someone in Africa has these energy," Elmer said.
"And two in Switzerland," Mark added.
"My guess is that they are also former rangers," Marian asked.
"Indeed they are. There is one in London, one in Florida, and three in Stone Canyon. Perhaps they are you former teammates, Tommy," Elmer said.
"I think so. Maybe we should go and get them, Tommy suggested.
"Agreed. Satori and I will go to Stone Canyon," Mark volunteered.
"Marian and I can get Florida on our way back from Africa," Warren called.
"Good. Tommy and I will get Europe then," Elmer said. "We will meet back here as soon as we got them. Miles, you stay here. Contact us in case anything happened," he instructed. The group nodded and teleported away.
