This trip to AX 2002 almost did not happen. I was attending a training course at Keesler AFB, MS at the time of AX. I found out a little less than a month before hand that the July 4 weekend was going to be a four day weekend for the class. I mulled the idea of going to Southern Calif. Just for AX and ran it by my girlfriend Lisa as well. She was enthusiastic about it and encouraged me to go. She was also able to secure time off from work to go with me and I agreed it would be a great experience to share. We threw things together fairly quickly and with massive support from my old friends, Jesse and Freddy, we were set. There were a few near mishaps with some of the arrangements but it was all set up about a week and a half before AX.
