The Kingdom of Dublin Seaport is a small local educational group in Southern California, dedicated to the study and recreation of the Renaissance and Medieval periods between 650AD and 1690 AD.
The Kingdom of Dublin Seaport is not merely a social group, but a reenactment organization. Our organization centers upon the participants not simply the spectators. While often we seem like other groups acting medieval, we work at re-creating the middle ages, as it should have been with no plagues, diseases, or wars. The populace works together to re-create the combat, arts, sciences, skills and policies of this era. Our primary goal is to have fun while teaching others about our chosen time period.
We often demonstrate our
fighting and creative talents in public. We use public demonstrations to teach
others and to gather new members. Again, participation is key to having fun in
the Kingdom of Dublin Seaport. It is here that you will get the opportunity to
show off your skills.

The Society for Creative Anachronism(SCA) is an international non-profit educational organization devoted to the study, researching and re-creating of pre-seventeenth century European history and western culture. The purpose of the SCA is the study and recreation of the European Middle Ages, its crafts, sciences, arts, traditions, martial arts, literature, etc. The SCA "period" is defined to be Western civilization before 1600 AD, concentrating on the Western European High Middle Ages.
The SCA concentrates on the European Middle Ages and Renaissance, and members work to re-create arts and skills of this era. Some members study the Middle East and explore the interaction between Europe and Asia during the period under study.
The SCA was incorporated in 1968, but recognizes a tournament held in Berkley, California on May 1st in 1966, as its founding date.
An ''Anachronism'' is something that is out of it's proper time frame. ''Creative Anachronism'' takes the best qualities of the Middle Ages and selectively re-creates them in the modern world.
SCA encourages active participation in the learning process. To learn costuming, you design and build costumes. To learn SCA infantry fighting, you make armor, weapons, shields, etc., and put them on and go learn how it feels to wear them when somebody is swinging a (rattan) sword at you. To learn brewing, you make (and sample!) your own wines, meads and beers.

SCA can be found at: http://www.sca.org

Members of the Adrian Empire share one common interest -
the desire to learn more about Medieval history, they learn about history by
'doing' history, by re-creating the atmosphere of the Middle Ages and
Renaissance.
