SWEDAWMYAT PAGODA - MYANMAR
The military regime built the Swedawmyat (tooth relic) Pagoda. It is located on Swedaw Lan near the International Buddhist University . Architecturally this is supposed to be one of the better designed pagodas in Yangon. Although the name suggests it houses a genuine tooth of Buddha it is in fact a replica brought from China by pilgrims in 1997.
