JOSENJI - JAPAN
Josenji (Jodo shinshu sect) was founded in 1543 (the 12th year of the Tembun Era). The temple is located in Onomichi ( southeastern Hiroshima ) which is now spotted with 25 Buddhist temples in its streets, and their dignified figures give off flavor of history and culture. On the top the majestic large roof of the temple lie gigantic gargoyles of 16 tatami mat area each.
