Tây An Cổ Tự ( means Ancient Pagoda ) located at Sam mount ( Châu Đốc), was built in 1847 by Governor Doăn Uẩn . The leader monk has made great contribution to the contruction is Đức Phật Thầy Tây An. The complex of architectural structures built within the premises of the pagoda work in harmony with the natural surrounding. The present construction with combination of Oriental and Indian styles . The pagoda has 200 statues made of preciuos wood .There are two large statues of elephants in the pagoda ground. The black elephant with 2 ivories represents power over malice . The white elephant with 6 ivories represents restful mind. |
