Where to start? My FIRST concert, that turned me into a punk music lover!
Ok, my Mum is a CPP for a big corporation, which basically means I get free shit all the time.
Tuesday: One magical day (which happened to be a tuesday) she phones me and tells me that she put my name in for tickets to see either or The Chemical Brothers. That's all fine and dandy. I knew one Chemical Brothers song...gotta be the Block Rockin Beats y0! and ? who the hell are they?! She calls me back to let me know I've won and I have to pick which tickets I want. Eeny Meeny Miney Mo...and there you have it it was by a land slide. I call up my bestest girlie...get the answering machine like usual and leave a "y0 I gots tickets in a Private Booth at the Hershey Center, dunno who they are though wanna go?" She has a miniture heart attack and tweaks on me for 'being such a loser' and it's a date.
Wednesday: Don't wanna be 'such a loser' for not knowing the 'coolest Canadian Band' SO, I do some minor research...just enough to know what type of music they are. PUNK?! man, should have taken the Chemical Brothers. OMG, WHAT THE FUCK AM I GOING TO WEAR?! There is sure to be SOME hot guys at this thing. As long as they don't have pop cans through their ears and mohawks I'm so down. Decide on a pink top, curly hair, black pants...looked damn good too.
Thursday: OMG, the concert is tonight! Starts at 7:00pm SO if we skip the day of school we should make it no problem!
Pre-Show: Pull in the parking lot and there is like no line and we got a parking spot like 10 from the door. Too sweet. ANYWAY, we go up to the doors and get patted down (reminded me of the megadeth concert I went to) went inside and up to our private booth that we were unpleasantly surprised to see we were sharing with 8 other people...and fuck they were all little kids. LITTLE KIDS EVERYWHERE! LITTLE KIDS WITH THEIR MUMS!
Opening Bands: Autopilot Off and H2O...again had no clue but this time I didn't feel like such a loser cause Linda had no idea either. H20 was fuckin amazing! I was so impressed especially with the remake of ...fuck what's that Madonna song? I would so go see them again. For some reason I can't remember what APO sounded like.
: I can't even describe how fuckin amazing these guys were. I did know a few of the songs and even the ones I didn't know stuck in my head for days after the concert. My favourite part was when they are all lined up and they do that little...dance thing. I dunno what you call it. But, from that moment on I was hooked on and punk music! It was possibly the greatest show I've ever been too and even though they are still young the band did a wicked job in keeping the crowd jumpin around and having a blast.
After the Show: Linda and I vow to go to EVERY concert/show/tour that is a part of (in and around Toronto) UNFORTUNATELY THE NEXT TWO DATES THAT I KNOW OF ARE THIS WIN TO GET IN SHIT!!!
