Basic Feng Shui Cures

Environmental Remedies

Mirrors

Mirrors can be used to expand the energy of a space by providing more light. They can also bring favorable features, such as views of forests, lakes, or the ocean, into your home or office.

Mirrors must never cut off the (reflected) head of the tallest person in the home or office.

Ba Gua Mirrors can be used to counteract external Shar Qi ("killing breath") that is directed at a location. These mirrors are used outside a building in a multitude of situations when a structure is being bombarded by Shar Qi.

Ba Gua mirrors have an octagonal frame, upon which are engraved or painted the 8 trigrams.

A Ba Gua mirror should never be placed inside a structure, for the arrangement of its trigrams is called the "Before Heaven" arrangement – a pattern used in tombs and graveyards.

. . . . .

The Ba Gua we use in "inside" Urban Feng Shui grids is based on a different pattern: The "After Heaven" arrangement – the pattern for people living in the three- dimensional world.

The Trigrams will be discussed in greater detail in another scroll.

Crystals

.
Austrian Faceted Lead-Crystals come in a variety of sizes.

.
.These round, faceted, crystal balls exhibit two effects:

(1) To slow down or disperse fast moving Qi, and . . .

. . . (2) to enhance and focus Qi in a location.

The size of the crystal used is determined by the size of the space being cured. These crystals come in a variety of different hues like aurora, yellow, blue and red.

Austrian Lead Crystals are essentially melted, formed, and faceted,
glass balls (sand) with some lead added.

They reflect and refract light like a diamond
and are excellent for Feng Shui purposes . . .

But they must not be confused with natural crystals
that grow inside the earth (more on these later).

Lighting

Lights enhance the Qi flow in any location as well as adding the Fire element.

Upwardly-directed or upwardly-placed lighting can be used in spaces where Qi is repressed and needs to be lifted up.

Chimes

.

Wind Chimes - Whether made from bamboo (sounding like flowing water) or from metal (sounding like vibrating tones), these Chimes can be used outside in the front or the back to attract Qi to a location like a doorway.

They can also compensate for a missing Life Area or a missing section of a Life Area.

Bells

Bells - Can be placed on doors. Usually these are on strings with several little bells attached. As usual, a red string is preferable.

These bells attract Qi through your door and help to break up Shar Qi ("killing breath") that is entering your home or office.

Indoor Water Fountains

Water Fountains - The soothing sound of a fountain is very desirable.

The sound of moving water represents Prosperity, and is also a potent Water element cure.

.

.

Plants

Trees, Plants & Flowers help to lift the Qi and create a more harmonious environment.

Choose plants that have rounded leaves and try to avoid plants with sharp edges, needles, or thorns.

If living plants can not be used, then you may substitute silk plants instead.

Make sure the plants stay healthy and free of pests.

These make excellent Wood element cures.

Fish

Aquariums – Moving fish attract and radiate Qi.

They (the "experts") say that you should get nine goldfish; 8 really-gold, and one black. It is believed that the black fish will help to avert financial misfortune - This is more of a Chinese superstition than a Feng Shui cure.

Aquariums provide excellent Water element cures as long as the tank is kept clean and the fish are healthy.

Mobiles

Mobiles - help to stimulate Qi and provide entertaining points of interest.

.

Outdoor Fountains

Fountains - These are the large, outdoor fountains, or fountain-pools where water sprays or flows.

Water features help to attract and collect Qi on a property.

.

Whirligigs

Whirligigs - the spinning motion of these outdoor, balanced, air-driven contraptions helps to increase and stimulate Qi flow on any property.

Flags

Flags & Flag Poles help to lift up the Qi energy on a property.

Rocks

.

Stones & Boulders stabilize and ground Qi.

.

.

Boulders also serve as an excellent Earth cure to help control water.

Statues

.

Statues - Small statues stabilize and ground Qi to complete the energy of an office, a room, or a house.

Large statues ground Qi for the stability of a property, a city, or a country.
