A Lie of the Mind explores the dark psychological landscape of the disintegrating American family. Filled with the mythic imagery of a tattered American dream. Dysfunctional families...One family is from southern California, one from the forests of Montana. They are linked by a marriage that both families dismiss or conveniently forget. Both families are poor whites. Shepard's characters are parodies of the variety of human life found in the vastness of the United States. Intended for mature audiences.
Another Theatre Company is proud to present, "A Lie of the Mind". Sam Shepard's account of dysfunctional family and acquaintances in modern day Montana and California. The play permits scrutiny of vastly diverse characters and their dynamic as their lives touch upon spousal abuse, and a shooting. The characters search for acceptance and struggle with their stations in life. "A Lie of the Mind" is intended for mature audiences.
