Hesperia Christian beat Templeton HS in the opening round of the VCA Holiday Tourney 68-61. HCS opened with a good pressure press which hindered and tired Templeton as they attempted to break it. HCS jumped out in front in the first quarter 18-12. The Patriots were able to maintain that lead thru the second and third quarter. In the fourth quarter Templeton mounted an attack led by sophmore all-Coast League selection, Chris Silzer. Although HCS failed to manage the clock properly in the final minutes, their pressure and hard play staved off the attack and they pulled out the win. HCS is now 5-3. Templeton is a Division IV school with a 3-5 record.
