                                                    JACK O'HALLORAN:

                                               BOXING YEARS: 1966-1974

                                                                                                         UPDATED 6/2/03

Jack gave me permission to talk about his boxing years before he had become a professional actor.

Before Jack got started as an actor. He was a professional Boxer from 1966-1974. I remember reading interviews with Jack when Superman 2 was released. He talked briefly about his boxing career and that the doctors told him that he couldn't play anymore. So Jack then started his movie career with Farewell, My Lovely. The picture below are big pictures. A very special thanks to Pete Ehrmann for the photos. They are pictures from three of Jack's fights. Jack1 is Jack fighting Ron Stander in Omaha, NE. Stander challenged Joe Frazier for the world heavyweight title, and against O'Halloran won a 10-round decision. Jack2 shows Jack beating Danny McAlindon in London via eight round decision. McAlindon went on to become British Empire heavyweight champion. It was a very good upset win for Jack. Jack3 shows Jack against George Foreman, who stopped Jack in five rounds, on Foreman's march to the heavyweight championship.
