Dragnet was the first movie where I heard Jack talk in a movie. I had only seen Superman: The Movie and Superman 2. Tom Mankiewicz wrote the Superman script. He directed Jack in Dragnet.

Jack had a supporting role in the comedy Dragnet. I remember going to the movie back in 1987 and knew that Jack was in the film. I never had seen him talk before, since I had only see him in Superman II. Dragnet was directed by screenwriter Tom Mankiewicz. He also did screenplay work on both Superman The Movie and Superman II.
I have talked with Jack on the phone and through e-mail. He stated that he liked Dragnet. He also liked working with Tom Hanks. Both he and Tom have a funny scene at the police station.
