Links to Kewl Stuff
One of the nice things of having your own page is that you can get away putting up your favorite stuff on it. So, for your pleasure, the KF6FNS Lutheran Theology and Amateur Radio Page has put up kewl links to enjoy. When I first put up this page, I found the word "kewl" very amusing, but now it is simply lame. But for now, I'm keeping this section title as this was one of the original pages of my site. Some of the sites are entertaining, others are recommendations for products that I use personally and the rest are of places I enjoyed eating at. This section is always under construction, but here are for your persual my recommended "kewl" sites:
- C & O Trattoria - If you are going to Venice Beach CA, make sure to eat there. This Italian restaurant is tops as it serve big tasty bowls of pasta and Killer Garlic Rolls. The prices are reasonable and you'll never go hungry!
- Homestar Runner- Hilarious and a staple in my Monday mornings. Check out the winsome Homestar, the ever cool Strong Bad, and the soo good Teen Girl Squad.
- Jump The Shark- When your favorite TV show begins to be cruddy, you just know it. This site focuses on when shows go downhill.
-
Insanity Test- I failed that test! Worth the loading wait.
- DangerMouse- this British dynamo of a secret agent Mouse is kewl! I loved that show...my kid sister detested it.
- The Eighties Page- Even though I was a kid at that time, I remembered listening to Duran Duran and the Thompson Twins. You can say I'm a Honorary Child of the Eighties. The 80s were cool and there is no other decade like it.
- RainbowBrite.Net- Put a rainbow in your heart! The cartoon was cool and colorful.
- Square Pegs- This show was kickin'. It got Devo as a guest band. Too bad it only lasted for one season.
- Gothic Miss Manners -This site displays the true ethos of the Gothic subculture. This is a practical, no-nonsense advice column of how Goths should be. Best of all, she distinguishes being Gothic from being just a brooding, Manson-loving, trouble-making Spooky Kid.
- Wes Clarks' Avocado Memories -A humorous account of growing up in suburban Burbank, CA during the 60s and 70s. Read the story of the death of Ferro Lad and also of the night cruises with the "Indigestion Special."
- AV Geeks -Recall those school days when you sit in a darkened classroom watching educational films.
- Japanese Engrish -What is "Engrish"? It is what you see on many Japanese products: surreal English sentences. Some of the words may be too rude for some audiences.
- It's a Knockout Page -Cool stuff! In the early 90s, KCAL Channel 9 in Los Angeles aired this Australian TV game show. I used to watch it on Saturday mornings until some schmuck programming replaced it.
- Chico's -I highly do recommend going to Chico's for quality clothing. The customer service is impeccable, the clothing size system is marvelous, and the clothes are beautiful. I get high compliments everytime I wear something from Chico's. You will, too.
- Kibo's Fake Dr Pepper Roundup -James "Kibo" Parry (Yes, THAT Kibo of Kibology fame) has tested every type of Dr Pepper knockoff and has posted his findings onto his site. Proof positive that Dr Pepper is the Drink of the Gods.
- The Highly Unofficial alt.fan.dr-pepper FAQ -Yes, I'm a Pepper! So I'm including this link!
- Kiwanis Club of Laguna Hills/Saddleback -This was the sponsoring club of the Circle K chapter at Concordia University. Great bunch of blokes!
- Urban Decay -This is a great brand of make-up and comes in all types of colors and shades imaginable. Cruelty-free, and their nail polish does not contain those infamous phthalates. Try the Gypsy Den kit.
- Etiquette Hell -This is a how NOT to plan a wedding guide. Everything from rude guests to tacky receptions to drunken groomsman can be found there. Pray we won't get listed.
- Harry Caray's Restaurant in Chicago -Best. Steak. Ever. (Note that the structure of that phrase is intentional as it really has the best steak ever.) The Prediger and I visited there for dinner while vacationing in Chicago and we were not disappointed. Big portions, wonderful sides, and a great wine list. It is perfect for the low-carb/Atkins dieter and everyone else who loves steak.
- Rothchild's in Corona Del Mar -My favorite place to eat in California, I go there yearly with friends. Good wine selection as well as Old World charm.
- Ledson Winery -My favorite wine comes from this winery in Sonoma Valley. Try their Merlot. I've introduced to one of my closest friends the joys of Ledson, and as a result, whether she is dating somebody, she asks herself: "Is this guy worth giving a bottle of Ledson to?" This is a good way to determine the character of suitors. My Prediger is definitely Ledson-worthy.
My Favorite Song
If there is a song that I consider to be the kewlest, it have to be "Orang-Outang" by Bow Wow Wow. This is one of the "filler" tracks found in their earlier album See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang Yeah! City All Over! Go Ape Crazy! (Actual title-no kidding.) "Orang-Outang" has deep African rhythms, a dreamy Surf Music meets Spaghetti Western composition, and the best guitar riffs I've heard. If I have my way, I'd arrange a performance dance piece for it. Listening to it for the first time left me in awe.

Some Random Pics...
For Christmas, my Prediger gave me a nice digital camera. Coming soon...Carol runs around in circles!
Another great thing about having my own page is that I can "adopt" virtual pets. This is my pet cabbit, Luther. He's half cat, half rabbit, and all cute. He is named after the reformer of the Christian Church. Luther digs carrots like KF6FNS herself (see him grab those carrots), and he's living on the kewl section.
If you and your website want to adopt any of Luther's brothers and sisters, click here.
I also adopted a Doctor Who Time Lord. This is Tom Baker, the fourth Doctor of the series and my personal favorite Doctor. He loves jellybabies (That's jellybeans for all of you Yankees!), too. Get yourself your own Dr. Who today!

There will be more, so stay tuned!
