Slow food?

Basically, this category encompasses all restaraunts that aren't obviously fast food (ie: they make it, stick it in a bag, and you're on your way) but aren't exactly a formal sit-down restaraunt. Granted you sit down at these places, but it's more of a festive setting than anything else. Basically, it's casual dining, Isuppose.

Chevy's

Synopsis: Quite frankly, Chevy's is one of the best places I've eaten at. The only thing that prevents me from saying that it is the best is that I'm not a big fan of Mexican food. Chevy's offers good food, good atmosphere, good service. Everything but the price is right, and even then it isn't off by much.

Pros: Geez... What isn't there to say about Chevy's? First and foremost are their commercials. I don't know how much they pay their advertising folks, but it's not enough. While not entirely laugh-out-loud insanly hillarious, they are consistently funny and it takes a long time to get tired of them. By the time you do get tired of it, they've already started airing another one. Beyond that, the food is excellent. Or would be if I liked Mexican food. Taco Bell has ruined the entire country for me... Damn. I highly recommend that if you do go, surreptitiously tell them it's someone's birthday. Towards the end of your meal, they do a song, give you a festive sombrero, and some ice cream. I've heard they charge for the ice cream, but I've never noticed it on the bill.

Cons: Service time is a little slow, but it doesn't pay to rush food like this, so it's excusable. Beyond that, all I can really say is that the price is a little higher than it should be, but I'm willing to pay it. That's about it, really. I'd give it a +, except that I don't like Mexican food, as I've said.

Recommendations: I always get the ribs, actually. I've had their nachos before, but couldn't stomach them-- Too much guacamole (even a dab is too much for me, though).

Final Verdict:
J
