Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
This verse is a very important warning from our
Yahshua Messiah for the period when Satan's false
beast system comes to its fullest.
It means those who are meant for 'captivity',
will go into captivity. And those who try to battle
against this future one world government with weapons
of war, such as physical armaments, will not be able
to defeat this future 'beast' system.
This also has an deeper spiritual application .
A warning to not miss use the sword of the spirit which
is the word of Elohim! By swinging it in a beast like fashion!
This 'patience and the faith of the saints'
is to know and understand these latter day events
coming upon the world, and stay in our Yahshua Messiah
during this tribulation, being prepared according
to Ephesians 6, putting on the whole Armour of God,
meaning all of God's Revealed Word. Even each piece
of your armor is received as revelation.
But that another study!... Smile.
Some of God's elect have a Mission to fulfill
during Satan's tribulation.
So if God's elect pick up a physical weapon to battle
against the first 'beast', then how will they survive
to carry out their Mission for our Lord.
And I think those certain ones know who I'm talking to.
Flesh and blood battle is not the arena in which our
Heavenly Father and His Son will fight this last
one-world false empire
It will be a spiritual battle, not one of flesh and blood.
Remember Daniel was protected during that 70
years captivity in Babylon, even after being thrown
into the lion's den, and his brethren into the hot fiery
furnace of the king of Babylon (Dan.3).
Our Lord was protected while He ministered until the time
came and he was placed on the cross by hateful men.
Even so the Two Witnesses of Elohim will be protected
by the Father as they witness, Preaching the Last Gospel,
"The Gospel Of The Kingdom",
until the time appointed and they are martyred.
They shall rise on the third day and have the victory.
CHRISTIAN PATRIOTISM
When we have exhausted all legal means at our disposal and "fought the good fight"
within the bounds that Scripture and the laws of our nation have afforded us,
to resort to bloodshed and force is totally contrary to all that Jesus Christ taught.
He allowed us the right to defend ourselves against individuals who would attempt
to do us or our families physical harm (Luke 22:36), but that right is not extended
to our relationship with government.
In the early days of the Church, the Roman government
slaughtered Christians by the millions and yet there is not
one word in the New Testament criticizing it for doing so, much less advocating
its overthrow! Our Sovereign God obviously allowed that persecution to take place
so that the Gospel message would be spread as the persecuted individuals fled
for their lives. Without the persecution, the Church at Jerusalem--comprised almost
totally of Jewish believers--would very likely have remained confined to that general
area. And as distasteful as the concept is to our finite minds, God has demonstrated
time and again that the personal comfort and fleshly well-being of His children
is not always of prime importance to His plan. That is why He tells us in His Word
that "all who will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution"
(2 Timothy 3:12).
He suffered, bled, and died--why should we think we are exempt?
