Through the moving words of author Charles, SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 RECORD FOR POSTERITY... bears witness to the horrific events of a single day in history that changed our lives forever.
Mr. Charles wrote, " the temporary troubles of these times are nothing in comparison with the victory and glory of the days to come."".... we should build on the sense of community and compassion that permeate the country and the world. It's a time to reach and witness! We must sustain the spirit of America at its best!" He added.
INSPIRATION PRESS realizes that this e-book is for you, your children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 RECORD FOR POSTERITY: AMERICA'S MISSION, HOPE, HEALING AND GLORY is a document, a collection of words and feelings of people trying to put September 11 into context and perspective. In a great spirit of total openness, the author talked to many citizens who watched the unfolding of the tragedy. This work is the gist of these interviews and observations. They all wanted to share something to the healing of the nation.
Mr. Charles even went to the first West Coast Memorial erected and dedicated to the memory of the fallen heroes and in honor of the survivors. On the premises of this California security firm, Pelco, the author of this excellent book ran into some of the firefighters, rescue workers, volunteers and family members who went into what has been dubbed Ground Zero to help find survivors. They were taken aback by the recognition and largesse of a man , a company and two cities miles away from New York and Washington, D.C. Mr. Charles had a chance to greet some of the survivors who personify and confirm the bravery and determination that emerged in the face of fear and complete chaos.
Polaroids of "Missing people" posters, candlelight vigils and long lists of names, left at the memorial site, give form to the sense of loss that remains in the wake of September 11, 2001.
While this book focuses on the specific events that took place in New York City that day, it also speaks to the response of the people on the streets of major cities, farms, remote corners of the country and the world and inside individuals' private homes and office spaces. It also speaks to the international scope of the tragedy and of the humanity and compassion that has risen up behind it. The author informs us that we are truly living in a global village. An act of aggression against one nation soon becomes the affairs of many other countries. That has long been the spirit of the NATO nations. This motto now becomes the vision of the world. At war against terrorist groups, the U.S.A receives the support of many other countries. Sept. 11 makes this realization clear. As citizens of the world, we have a responsibility to contribute to peacekeeping and tackle the major challenges to our collective welfare. The author wrote, "We are all on the same boat of life." All the more reasons for all of us to assume our responsibility and tackle the challenges to our generation: ignorance, hatred, poverty, illiteracy, AIDS, famine, terrorism, persecution because of religious affiliation, ethnic backgrounds, strifes and economic disparities, lack of access to education etc. The essays of ...AMERICA'S MISSION, HOPE, HEALING AND GLORY will soothe your soul and speak directly to you and loved ones. More importantly, they will comfort you in these hard times. You will be able to meditate over the biblical passages quoted in the book.
