I woke up screaming loud
Amidst the screaming crowd
All the faces lookin back
All the while the question why
Do what I can just to get me by
Found a reason to shed my tears
All those worthless wasted years

Pull was one of the last songs recorded on "Nevermore". It's a song telling the tale of a boy who allows himself to be abused by a woman. This is neither the womans fault, nor the boys fault, it's simply a lesson that is learned in time. Guess what kiddies, this song here is possibly one of the only Cafe Insomnia tunes that ends on a happy note. The boy, in a drunken stupor, steps off the abusive ground and comes back to appreciative friends.

You push my face all along the floor
You laugh and ask if I want more
I beg for mercy and I promise praise
Dancing in my drunken daze

I feel my body sink
Got no time left to think
Try to pick myself up
Then someone comes and fills my cup
I scream up to the sky
And look you in the eye
I feel my body strain
There's so much left to gain

You push my face all along the floor
You laugh and ask if I want more
I beg for mercy and I promise praise
Dancing in my drunken daze

I pull my face up off the floor
I turn my back on you and close the door
You beg for mercy and you promise praise
Laughing in my drunken daze
