off as a joke while Kaylub was recording more accoustic songs during his "Preach On Preacher" sessions. One day while driving around downtown Regina, sk. Kaylub and his friend Brad were listening to some techno music. Kaylub spoke up and said "Man, this stuff is so recycled, I could make this stuff." Brad laughed at Kaylub and said "Dude, you make accoustic stuff, there's no way you could make Techno". Kaylub was sure he could and when he got home that night he put together a Techno song called "Internal Prayer". He showed it to Brad and he was actually impressed, Kaylub also liked the idea of making some Techno music with his own touch to it, it was a new challange. So Kaylub ditched ideas of a new accoustic album and begin recording techno tracks. Once it was all done Kaylub titled it "U-Turn" for a couple of reasons. It was kind of a cheap shot at the "Road To No Where" album and it was also something completely different than what Kaylub usually did, hence, it was a U-Turn in his career. We have real audio demo clips of the songs and some deeper descriptions of each individual song on the webpage, if you're interested just see below. The art in the booklet's were pieces of art Kaylub found on the internet and loved. All the pictures were posted as "created by anonymous artist" so Kaylub listed the art on his CD as "Provided by anonymous artist". He then later found out that they were created by Alex Grey and wishes to give Alex Grey full credit to the art on the CD. This album was a one time only deal, Kaylub started his techno tracks out of the blue and abruptly ended them as well. After Kaylub had jumped the hurdle he felt it was time to get back to his favorite kind of music and start putting together some new songs. To hear audio samples of the album |
