Musicians Can Be Heroes Too

Who said musicians can't be a heroes? This was the question my family debated last night. In my english class we've been discussing heroes and their characteristics. I, believe that musicians can be heroes. But I know others may not agree (like my mom..heh:). Anyways, I want to ask you all this... flat out, no ifs, ands, or buts about it. Plain and simple- Can musicians be heroes? Why or why not? In your opinion what do you think. Please email me and tell me, because I really want to know what you guys think.

Someone can't tell someone whose hero is a musician that they are wrong. We all have our own heroes, and obviously you can't be wrong in defining your own hero. Right? Someone tell that to my family, who thinks I am crazy for thinking a musician can be a hero. Maybe I'm just diffferent, and maybe it is just me, but if it is- then why do so many people look up to musicians!?

I explained my point very clearly to my mom, on how I came to the assumption that a musician can be a hero... but she didn't agree. So, in order to get my point across I want to be able to show her proof that many people's heroes are musicians. And plus, I felt this was a very good topic for my article today:)

Musicians and their music inspires, gives hope, provides a sense of security, and gives you everything that somehting else could never give! I think that those are some pretty good reasons for calling someone a hero. Art Alexakis, he had a terrible childhood, grew up, almost died, and is now an accomplished musician who touched the lives of many people- is he a hero to those people? Definitely. You can take anyone, ask them their favorite musician, and ask them if that musician is their hero. I personally, almost 99% of the time guarantee you that they will say yes.

Someone can't tell you who you hero is or isn't. That's just it. So, in my theory, musicians are heroes. Period.

Thanks for listening to my nonsense... Melissa:)
