Learning How To Smile Interpretation

Learning How to Smile is one of my favorite songs on LHTS (and I know a lot of people who share that). At first it may seem sort of sappy, but I view it as a song in the same vein sort of as Summerland, definitely in my top five. It's all about going everywhere and anywhere, and it not mattering the conditions because of someone with you, or near you. "I will never let them break your heart, I will never let them break me," is such a powerful line to me.That wanting to protect someone from the evils of this world (gah, heh) and shielding them from tainting your world. Another good line is predictably, "I know there ain't no finish line, I know this never ends, but I'm just learning how to fall and climb back up again." I had that pinned up in my locker at school just to get through the days (when I went to school) and whenever I felt like everything was horrible, I'd look at that and remember that I'm always just going to be learning how to fall and learning how to climb back up again. I know that sounds really tacky, but it helped. And oh, this is not an interpretation at all, but my personal experience. Beh, sorry :b
