At this show it was Robbie solo, and he played the piano and also the guitar for some songs. And he also did a little rap dance thing to his recorded music at the end. lol- It was very interesting:) Anyway it was at Mr.T's Bowl in LA on Thursday Sept. 6th. and like the last show, me, my dad, and my sister went.
Robbie made the show very personal for me and my family. He talked to us inbetween songs on the mic and let me take pictures while he was playing. It was really awesome to see him play both the piano and the guiatr. He really rocked on the guitar, and when he played you could tell he was totally into what he was doing.
It's really great to be able to see a musician play and have so much fun. To know that he is doing it because he loves it. I really admire him for that. And when he plays the piano it's so beautiful- I mean it's amazing how many sounds you can get out of what seems to be such a simple instrument. The words to his songs are very meaningful, and where as everyone will look at them differently, I don't think anyone could walk away from hearing him play and not getting something out of it.
After the show Robbie came down and sat with us at the table and we ended up talking for over an hour I think. It was fun to talk with him because he is such a great person and to be able to talk with a musician who I now look up to, was really nice. He even let me look at all his material in this notebook he had. It was a compiltaion of all his songs, lyrics and chords, and it was cool to get to see that.
So if Robbie Gennet is ever in your town, go see him! It will change the way you think and your love for music forever...
