Jimmy Page started playing studio sessions when he was still a teenager. Influenced by such pop acts as the Beatles and blues acts like Willie Dixon, Page began fusing his sound together. He was strongly influenced by Jeff Beck, and was able to play along side him in the Yardbirds. In 1968, Page left the Yardbirds to start Led Zeppelin, which turned into one of the most successful bands to come out of Great Britian in the 60's, if not ever.

John Prine’s songs aren’t folk; they aren’t blues. There are country elements, but nothing Nashville would come close to claiming. There are rock elements, but nothing to appease your average air guitarist.

Perry Farrrell is quite simply, one of the most important and original musical figures of the '90s. Undettered, Farrell put together what would become one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Jane's Addiction. He hooked up with a pair of young metalheads, drummer Stephen Perkins and guitarist Dave Navarro, plus alternative fan Eric Avery on bass. The quartet was harder rocking than Farrell's previous outfit, and injected their rock with unpredictability -unafraid to touch upon other non-rock musical styles and making great use of dynamics.

As a singer, he styled himself after Little Richard (a fellow Macon native) and Sam Cookein the early days, but he gradually acquired his own voice, imparting gruff, syncopated inflections to ballad and uptempo material.
