Josephine Lim Irabon

1981 Graduate

Josephine Lim Irabon, is a 38 year old mother of 3, needing a kidney transplant. If you see Josie you wouldn’t know that she is suffering from Kidney failure. She walks a little slower now, but a beautiful smile is always on her face. Josephine undergoes dialysis once a week. The cost of dialysis is P8,000.00. From Angeles City she hops on the bus to Ortigas, to get to the National Kidney Foundation. After her 4 hour treatment, she hops back on the bus and she is on her way back to Angeles City.

If you ask her what keeps her going, she will answer "The Lord is my strength in my weakness!"

Kidney Failure Patients generally undergo dialysis twice weekly, when they should be receiving treatment at least three times a week. As a result of the high fees charged by existing dialysis centres in the Philippines, patients are unable to afford even a single dialysis treatment.

The only other alternative available to kidney patients is transplantation. The cost of the transplant is P650,000.00. We may not be able to raise P650,000.00 but we can at least do something to help.
