When my friend Maurilio and I heard that SHIKABANE was coming down to the U.S. all the way from Japan, we went nuts, but it sucked that they had no L.A. shows..... the closet place to us which they were going to play was @ GILMAN in Berkeley.... we thought that this might be the first and only time they might ever come down so we decided to go on a little roadtrip, so we rented a car (since we have classic clunkers which would have probably have exploded halfway there) and drove all the way to Berkeley to See SHIKABANE!! Also playing that day was PHOBIA... Great show!! Oh yeah, I deserve some recognition for driving all the way to Berkeley from L.A. with only 1 pit stop..... you know, that was like a 5-6 hour drive.... OH YEAH!! If you guys have never heard of SHIKABANE, then I really recommend them... especially their split with AGATHOCLES, and their first full length E.P. which consists of 10 awsome thrash-grind songs. I really love these record! Sounds almost exactly the same as their split with AGATHOCLES... but their you get AGATHOCLES mincing and thrashing away into becoming one of my favorite AG splits.
