Tara 7 to 11 Months Old,
Cass 1.5+ Years Old (May 2002
- September 2002)
On the 24th May 2002
I made an honest woman of Julie by marrying her at the Knowle in Higham, Kent,
and on the 26th we flew off for a two week honeymoon in Maldives.
Cass
and Tara had a holiday of their own, staying with our parents in Rainham.
They had a nice big garden to play in, lots of love and I think, far too many
treats.
We had a fantastic
honeymoon, but couldn't wait to get back and see our girls. We were
worried that they wouldn't want to come back home with us, but we needn't
have. They gave us a fantastic welcome and waited at the front door ready
to go home.
We weighed Cassie
and found she'd put on almost a kilogram, so decided it was time for a
diet. We moved her onto a light dry food, halved her number of biscuits a
day and increased her daily exercise. A little over a month later she had
trimmed down and was looking lean and fit again.
We found that with
two dogs our back garden was looking less than healthy. In an attempt to
beat the brown patches we seeded the lawn with a hardwearing, fast growing
variety of grass. This merely resulted in constant long grass. Finally
we decided to astro turf the back garden.
Searching the
internet we finally located http://www.sortoutyourgarden.com/
where we purchased two rolls of artificial turf.
A wooden frame was
laid around both the top and bottom terraces of the garden. This was
secured at the edges in concrete, and filled with sand. The turf was then
laid on top, glued at the edges and cut like carpet.
The garden was
finished in a weekend and the girls took to it straight away. It's now
always green, well trimmed and the dog doo's easy to pick up. All I do is
water with diluted disinfectant to ensure it doesn't smell.
