Cassie was biting
her bottom a lot, so we took her to see the vet. He suggested that her
anal gland needed to be cleared. This is something that often happens to
dogs and normally results in them scraping their bottom on the grass. You
should be able to clear this yourself by raising the tail and squeezing the anus
with a damp cloth from both sides. Unfortunately, with Cass being so
closely docked, she clamped her tail over her bottom making it very difficult
for the vet. Eventually with a rubber glove and much whining, the job was
done and the biting stopped.
In September 2002 we
had a short break in Suffolk. This was Tara's first time staying in a
hotel and she did just fine.
 
As usual it rained
most of the weekend, but that didn't seem to bother the girls. They loved
their runs in the countryside and walks on the beach.
