BBC June 1973
NOTE - Although the inlay card may claim otherwise, the Glasgow shows actually took place at the Green's Playhouse. The first show, or matinee, kicked off at around 6 - 6.30pm, so not strictly speaking an afternoon show, with the second show at around 8.30 - 9pm. The first show has occasionally been passed off as the second show and vice-versa by bootleggers not knowing or caring that two shows took place.
The first show can be identified by "Hello Glasgow..... There is one word for an audience like you, and.... , it's an Americanism and it's called HOT SHIT!..........You really are! This is called Let's Spend The Night Together".
The Green's Playhouse was a flea-pit of a venue who's only claim to fame was being the largest single screen cinema in Europe at around 3,500 seating capacity. It thus became the largest concert venue in Scotland until it's demise in the early '80s. The venue was later renamed The Apollo Centre in late 1975 or early 1976, so the only time Bowie appeared at The Apollo Centre in Glasgow was during the 1978 tour. It was demolished after a fire gutted the interior and is now the site of a multiplex cinema that has run into difficulties during the construction stage.
