Dimitri Bessano (Vodacce)

Bastard son of a Vodacce Viscount, he has since become his heir and has set about traveling the world looking for the perfect bottle of wine and the perfect woman to share it with.

A Montaigne by birth, a Sea Dog by profession, explorer by nature Sebastien is a man of nautical skill who dreams of sailing around Theah, starting by going West.

The son of a Vodacce Knight and master swordsman. Niccolo's family fell into ruin after the death of his mother and later father, leaving Niccolo the head of his family. He has since sworn to serve Dimitri Bessano and has come to call the man brother despite always differing to his will. Well most of the time.

As cheerful an Avalon Jack as can be found. He's a prime seaman and few are better in the tops than he his. He's also Sebastien's best friend and they've been through much together and is both being certain that in a fight the other will be right behind them.

Diego Santiago (Castille)

A Castillian doctor hired on in Malacca. He is quite well versed in the Philosophical Arts and medicine. Often converses with Dimitri, but is very guarded about his past and while he may regale the table with tales of his time teaching medicine, he never goes into specifics.

A pair of Vodacce swordsmen who hired on with Dimitri. Before that they were mercenaries during the War of the Cross and sought employment in the North instead of returning home.

Nobody’s quite sure if these two or brothers or what their last names are but they’ve been in the tops of the Rampant for years and at Captain Winters’ orders went to the Venture to join their mates Sebastien and Waverly.

Alexi Ekaternava Ivanovich (Ussuran)

An Ussuran woodcarver hired as tutor in Ussuran by Dimitri because he could speak and write Vendel. He has also become Doctor Santiago’s assistant on board the ship which has shown the man to have a strong stomach at the very least.

Captain of the Sea Dogs ship Rampant and the mentor of Sebastien LaBoulanger. Recently promoted to the Queen's Advisor on Nautical Affairs, basically a cover so he could help advise Her Majesty on a sea war against Montaigne.

Sebastien's tutor in navigation and disenfranchised Montaigne noble. However spending time with the Captain and being part of the Sea Dogs has cured him of most of his 'fopishness' he still dresses in clothes worth more than the ship's stores.

Formerly captain of the Libertad, he helped rescue Sebastien and Dimitri from Delgado’s ship at Niccolo’s urging and joined them on their treasure hunt. However in the course of the expedition lost his ship. He has the gold to buy a new one now and remains the Heroes’ friend.

Ussuran Ambasassdor to Avalon. He and Dimitri hit it off at a party there and have become friends and business partners.

Mikhail's daughter and friend of Dimitri's she is sweet and innocent and has excellent poise and elegance despite lacking the skills of some of the other courtly ladies. She mostly keeps to herself.

A representative of the Bernoulli family in Avalon. He’s grown rich from selling Crescent spices and Cathayan silk even with the family’s large cut of his profits. He is currently Dimitri’s business partner and always alert for how to undermine the Vendel

Sofia Montero y Reyez de la Cruz (Castille)

Sister of the current Castillian ambassador to Avalon, she has befriended Dimitri out of mutual respect and a desire to see her fiancée’s killer brought down. To do that she has promised to give Dimitri Captain Delgado as well to sweeten the deal.

Sebastien’s first patron and one who has since offered glowing support for the young captain. Wolff is the Lord Mayor of Canguine and besides being the most openly corrupt mayor in Avalon is highly respected in the Admiralty and the House of Lords.
