Jann *LIVE*
~My June 19 2002 Concert Review~

It was a nice breezy June night, not too hot, not too cold. The stars were shining, the lake was lapping softly at the rocks and..
BELLEVILLE WAS READY TO ROCK!
My Mom, Dad, friend Jeff and I arrived at Myers Point park around 8:00 pm. Jann Arden was scheduled to perform @ 11
There were other bands who were performing when we arrived, Emily something-or-other, A country singer who did alot of remakes.
Jeff and I decided to cruise the grounds, check out the lake, buy some bacon (Jeffs fave food) on a bun and then sit down and watch the show.
Emily something-or-other finished at around 9:30 and Nortel put on some BEAUTIFUL, BEAUTIFUL fireworks. I think I was in heaven because if you know me, I love fireworks.
I love them ALMOST as much as JANN! alllllmost.
the fireworks lasted until around 10:00, which is when the whole crowd decided to move their chairs up. Of course right? This is when my parents went to get food so they got left in a tight little hole of people.
At around 10:15, when Jann's opening act Dana Mann came on, Jeff and I walked up and stood at the front (the wheel chair access) which was about a meter away from the stage. Dana was really good! Her style was like Jewel. She played her own guitar and that was the only instrument on stage, which was nice for a change.
Dana sang until 10:50 and then the crew started setting up for Jann. I took a picture of Dana which I HOPEFULLY will beable to scan in soon with my Jann pictures.
ANYWAY! Jann came on at 11 (very punctual) and opened with the song "Waiting In Canada" (one of my faves!). This warmed up the crowd perfectly!
She also talked between all her songs and gave us some stories. I took 26 pictures of her and shes looking at me in about half of them! she even talked to me about corncobs!
Besides singing her hits like; Good Mother, Insensitive, I Would Die For You, Cherry Popsicle (ect. ect.), she also did a few songs that "no one really knows the words too", for example: Stayin' Alive, I Will Survive, In the air that night (Fernando)..
Her encore was around 12 am and she came back singing "Tequila" and "Wipeout" well, wipeout turned into "Tequila" too! (my fave part!)
I didn't even realize that it was around 1:30 when she finished up. It was an AMAZING concert, the best I've ever been to!
The only complaint I have is that she didnt perform Gasoline and the people behind me and Jeff were high and drunk and thought they would try and sing along with Jann, they were also tonedeaf. Oh! and the lady in a wheelchair that kept trying to take my spot by running over my feet.
All in all, even the millions of bugs (that were getting massacred by the bug spray coming from the stage), probably enjoyed the concert. I know I'll never forget it.
SOOO I recommend that if Jann is in your area you take a chance and go see it.. you WONT regret it!
P.S. I ran to Wal-Mart the next day and got my film developed! the pictures turned out GREAT and I hope to scan them and upload them onto this site soon! so keep checkin!
P.P.S. If you HAVE seen Jann in concert and want to share your experience or pictures, or you just want to comment about how good Jann is lol e-mail me! and I'll add them on here :)
