DAY ELEVEN: Yet another leisurely day at sea. Lounge, drink, read, relax. My favorite kind of day.
They had a little area set up on deck for shopping. Terry picked up a bracelet from the "Inch of Gold" stand, and I got a polo shirt.
We also checked out the rock-climbing wall. Terry tried to talk me into doing it, but I'd done climbing and rappelling in my high school and Army years, so I didn't feel it was much of a challenge. 'Course, it could be that I was 40 years old and getting overweight that kept me from trying it. I'll let you decide.
We went to the Cruise Critic meet and greet, and it was a lot of fun. Terry had done a lot of research on Cruise Critic, and had made quite a few posts, so it was great to meet everyone (even if I'm not the most social person on earth). She also got to meet the cruise director, James Andrews, and discuss Australia -- one of Terry's favorite topics and her ultimate dream trip.
If you're in the pic, and would either like a copy (I have the originals, about 600-700k) or would like your Cruise Critic name added, email me.
After the get-together, we went down to the pool deck for a drink and to wait for the Windjammer to open for dinner. I got a drink from the pool bar, and met perhaps the friendliest bartender I'd ever met - Casanova.
Yep, that's his name. He even looks like a ladies man, but he was quite friendly even with me, and VERY generous on the alcohol content of the drink. He picked up on my name right away, and made it a point to call me by my first name at every opportunity, but he kept calling Terry "Sherry". Despite that, he got added to my "Did Great, Deserves a Promotion" list.
After dinner, it was back to the room to mix a couple of drinks, then back up to the Viking Crown Lounge for the Honeymooners Party.
After that, back to the room for one last nightcap and sleep.}
