Sorry,No new golf. Ace is still on the Injured Reserve list, bad knee, bad back and bad attitude, lol. So will just rest on the laurals of CHAMPIONS for a few more months and hope to defend the title this year.......

This week the Group, the whole Damn Group, played at San Luis Rey Downs Resort, Bonsall, Ca. in Cactus Jacks Annual Tournament.

Jeff and Gary were partners in the 2 day "bestball" format. Rocco`s partner from last year, Rudy, had to work and Ace was cut by last year`s partner, Cowboy Jim, so they teamed up this year. Was a perfect match, they WON by 1 shot. Rocco & Ace "ham & egged" it both days for a 169 total and the slim win. Tried to get all the scores, BUT!!

San Luis Rey Downs Golf resort is nice, rooms clean, food and drink good.

The weather was great, in the 80`s (the 100`s in the desert) and in the 50`s at night. A little windy in the afternon, but very nice!

The course was in fair/good shape. Patchy in the fairways, but marked "Ground under repair" where needed. The greens were perfect! They held well, putted true and were very fast. And of course the TREES, trees every where! Was fun....

The Group settled up each night in the Clubhouse, then to "Ringers", the local pub, for a few final-finals.

Ringers had a live Band both Friday & Saturday night, had way too much fun. Watched the big fight Saturday and had a steak dinner also. Ringers treated us very well. So did SLRD resort, with a nice lunch Sunday after golf. There were more players this year, 44 and should be bigger next time.

This was a great road trip & tournament to end the summer. Jeff & Gary will be ready to defend next year. Yea, Sure!! Hope is Eternal!!
